🐿 Last night I dreamt that the squirrel hopped onto my outstretched hand. No sign of him this morning. Left some blackberries out with the nuts.
Just published this:
🐿 Magnificent morning. No sign of the squirrel but the nuts have been taken again.

🐿 Dirty clouds slipped down and out of the valley. No sign of the squirrel. A robin clacked along the hedgerow until I stopped and said good morning, then he opened his throat to sing.
🎨 I've really enjoyed sending and giving away the postcards I had made from some of my art.
🍫 I really love chocolate. Today I ordered ingredients/kit to make my own chocolate bars. I chose a mould that should produce a small bar of 12 blocks. I ordered the cacao powder from a company I invested in that works hard on socially-conscious and sustainable supply chains. I ordered some food wrapping paper for now. I'd love to design my own wrappers in due course.
🍿 Suburra on Netflix is so damn good!
👨🏼🍳 Made sourdough focaccia today and it was 👌
🐿 Misty this morning; saw rabbit, pheasant, jay, robin, and heard a buzzard and a woodpecker. A conker that's been there for a few days has almost been finished. And one almond was left nibbled.
🧗🏼♂️ Climbing this evening with G&T. Worked on some much harder problems than usual which was challenging but fun. Mantling practice session left us bloody and bruised!
🏃🏼♂️ Huge fun crewing/pacing for Matt this weekend! He ran 100 miles in just under 24hrs!

🐿 I've walked along to visit the squirrel every morning this week. Like with every project, it's often related things that keep it fun. The day before yesterday I saw jackdaws and a partridge in the field. Yesterday I had a long, funny & fascinating chat with an old boy on an ebike who used to be a farm worker here. He had many tales to tell. Today the swallows are gathering on the telegraph wires ready to fly to Africa for the winter. As for squirrels, the day before yesterday I saw a different squirrel further down the road. Yesterday I saw the squirrel's tail in the tree as he was hiding behind a branch. Today, no sign.
🌅 Glorious evening bouldering with T. Worked on some of my problems.
Brilliant wedding and slept well for the first time in a long while. Devoured more Laureate podcast on the long drive home: Lily Cole, JK Rowling and the Prince of Wales - all lovely in their own way! Got home to the postcards I've had printed with some of my drawings/paintings - delighted with them!
Bit of a funny week. Back in the groove with work - but not with sleep.

I’m fascinated by how to grow creative confidence. Yesterday I sent a first edit of a new video to a friend together with all the reasons I didn’t want to send it / things I’d like to tweak. Very useful process! And got nice feedback too which helps a lot!
🧹 First month's log archived! Feels good to have a clean sheet!
🐿 A few days ago I was listening to the latest episode of Kevin Rose & Tim Ferriss's 'The Random Show' and they were discussing sleep. Tim suggested getting outdoors first thing in the morning in order to help set your circadian cycle. Monday was a bank holiday but I woke up early (after a few days of waking up very late) so I thought I'd try getting outdoors for a short walk. As I was standing looking across the valley a baby squirrel came hopping down the road towards me. It didn't seem afraid and scuttled about around me, standing up on its hind legs occasionally and looking about inquisitively. Yesterday I went to the same spot. I left a couple of nuts by the side of the road where I'd seen him and on a nearby gatepost. After a few minutes I saw him in the trees this time. This morning the nuts on the road had gone but the ones on the gatepost were still there. I didn't see him but there's a chance he still saw me. It's a childhood dream of mine to semi-tame a wild animal. Maybe this could be it!

🎨 On Monday I also did some art: started on another tiger for a film project - my first piece in chalk, a postcard-sized watercolour of a mackerel and the next Bargue plate 1.7 in watercolour (shared here on my Cours de Dessin page). Also made a timelapse of the plate and produced a first edit last night.
