Years ago I built a basic web app to share all the ideas I would never get round to building. It used the PHP/MySQL web app framework I developed and a friend's excellent domain name: PleaseBuildThis.com.
It has since keeled over 💀
This is the spiritual successor 🕯

2021-08-25: Gemini Yahtzee
Yahtzee is a fun game. I'd like to bring it to Gemspace as a multiplayer game. I've started on a CLI-based Python script that let's you roll dice, keep/re-roll them and score against a scorecard.

I'd like my Gemini capsule to be a tumblelog!
Content types:

- 🗯 Quote
- 🎥 Video (YouTube link)
- 🎵 Music (Spotify/YouTube link)
- 🍳 Recipe
Each piece of content should have an optional comment/description field, tags and a permalink. Tag pages should aggregate all content with that tag - and possibly be customisable too? Option to have some content (untagged?) disappear after a certain time. There might need to be a few different view templates depending on the page type. If I get round to it, I might try making this in Go :)

2021-08-13: Perpetual hosting service
Non-profit web hosting service that you pay into a trust for. The profits from the trust cover your hosting bill. So a $10/pa account would require a one-off contribution of $500. The funds would be invested and 2% of the returns would be allocated to paying your hosting bill in perpetuity.
2021-08-03: Backlink feed
It would be cool to see new backlinks to your capsule. Geminispace.info has a ‘Query backlinks’ section but it doesn’t seem too reliable. If there was an atom feed of these then it could be used with IFTT or equivalent to deliver emails/notifications.
2021-07-30: Topic based aggregator
Topic based gemrings… or better yet topic based content aggregators? Would be neat to find fellow artists, photographers, bakers, outdoorists 🌱

I think a topic-based aggregator would be the neatest for finding fresh content.

I'd like a really simple tool (drag/drop interface) that shrinks/compresses images down to 128kb for flounder.

There are so many VC firms now I think we need a Glassdoor/TrustPilot for investor reviews. Portfolio co’s could describe how firms _actually_ add value for them. Tristan highlighted one startup working on this:
2021-07-26: AirBnB for working retreats
In a post Covid remote work world, I think/hope companies will do more working retreats. These require a peculiar combination of 1-2 bed accommodation and communal spaces for working, dining, socialising. I'd love to go with half a dozen colleagues to work in the Lakes or Chamonix for a week or two. There could be a free directory to browse/book locations and then a white glove concierge service for companies that would pay for that.
